The challenges of Public Sector Cloud Computing

AWS in the public sector in Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) ran the Australian Census, the agency’s most significant workload, on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is the first time the Census has been run on the cloud.
As New Zealand's centre of government, Wellington City Council’s (WCC) mandate includes finding new ways of working and improving the lives of its citizens. The council relies on technology to deliver many of its municipal services and to facilitate collaboration with different stakeholders within the government. WCC upgraded its IT infrastructure to ensure it could support its goals.
The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in the Philippines tapped into AWS cloud computing to build a sustainable rice platform. This platform allows their team to document the entire production of the rice that consumers purchase and to study the whole foods supply chain.
